What it Means to be a Yellow Jacket Fan

Here we find ourselves, at the end of a season. No bowl game, worst record since before I was born. Yet this season can still be one that I can be proud to call my first and it all hinges on a win against u(sic)ga tomorrow.

But this brings up the hypothetical question that is so well outlined here at SB Nation the classic Yellow Jacket question, would a win against the dawgs make up for a horrible season?

First of all, this season has not been a complete failure, we beat a team that was streaking 28 in the ACC, and how soon we forget the modern records we set for most points with the absolute smackdowns we handed to Alcorn and Tulane...... Even some of our losses such as to Virginia have recently been justified to their win against Duke...

Ok its been bad.

But just food for thought. The win tomorrow is not out of reach, both teams are doing bad and really anything can happen. Personally, a win tomorrow would make the season for me.

The only Tech game I went to last year was the game at georgia. After ugag's last touchdown many of the fans were shaking my hand saying things like "good game, son" and then promptly leaving. Nonetheless, I stayed through, seeing Justin Thomas's scramble to just outside Butker's kicking range and thought this was going to be a typical Tech screw up with a few bad SEC ref calls thrown in. Kick and the Pick later not only redeemed the feeling that Tech could close in Bonus time unlike the failed the year earlier, but it came with so much gratification that my freshman year georgia hate could be accompanied by actual dominance over the team. And a stadium full of silent dwag fans is one of the best things ever.

The win last year could easily compound the significance of a win this year, and thus a little success in the season. Many young georgia fans actually dont know much about the rivalry due to the recent last 15 year dominance by them..... as evidence that my ugag high school classmates believe that "To Hell With georgia" is not a thing and the same statement against Tech is. No really they think its their thing. Forget all the #THWg that we literally put on everything even playing other teams.....

Oh and wouldn't it be great to end Mark Richt's career with this win? That could actually happen....

Here's to the Brave and Bold tomorrow, To Hell With georgia!!!!
